Velscope Oral Cancer Screening

According to Ontario Dental Association, Oral Cancer has a greater mortality rate than both breast cancer and prostate cancer. However, if early detected, it can be successfully treated.

In our clinic, we exam the mouth for any abnormal findings. An adjunct device called Velscope is used in the clinic to visualize these findings. The velscope  emits a harmless, bright blue light which is used to inspect the mouth and tongue.  The device is extremely sensitive to abnormal tissue changes.
